STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN USAHATANI KOMODITI BAWANG MERAH LOKAL PALU (ALLIUMASCOLONICUM L) DI DESA MAKU KECAMATAN DOLO KABUPATEN SIGI
Abstract
This study aims to find out the strategy of the development of local red shallot commodity business in Maku Village, Dolo District, Sigi Regency, the type of research used is descriptive. Population in this research is farmer who live and cultivate onion of Local Palu, samples of farmers who made the respondent as much as 56 HH conducted through census method. The data needed in the form of primary data obtained directly from the local red onion farmers through interviews with questionnaires and secondary data obtained from the office of Central Bureau of Statistics of Sigi Regency, Agricultural Extension Institute, and Maku Village Office. The analysis used is SWOT analysis. Based on the results of SWOT analysis, the development strategy of red onion commodity farming system in Maku village, Dolo sub-district of Sigi Regency is an aggressive strategy with more focus on SO strategy (Strengths-Opportunities), with score value 4,61 which is in quadrant I where on SO strategy has a great strength and good opportunities so that the commodity farming onion Palu Local allows to be developed, which is recommended in the SO strategy: Utilizing farmers’ groups and technology to facilitate the information, utilizing the experience berusahatani in the process of development of onion farming Local Palu and increase production accordingly with government policy.
